Penne pasta with bacon featuring a favorite sauce by Classico 

If you get around cooking a lot of dishes including tomato sauce as an essential, you know choosing tomato sauce brands are critical. Growing up, my mother has always used different flavors of Classico tomato sauce in her recipes. It’s always hard to decide on ONE sauce. Right now, Classico is trying to determine which sauce is Canada’s favorite in their Battle of the Sauces contest. Obviously Tomato & Basil gets my vote too once you try this recipe! Ingredients  

  1. Classico rose tomato sauce
  2. Olive oil
  3. Penne pasta
  4. Turkey Bacon
  5. Beef Sausage
  6. Chili flakes
  7. Salt
  8. Pepper
  9. Minced garlic

Instructions 

  1. Bring water to boil in a deep pot with a little bit of olive oil  
  2. Add the pasta when water boils and sprinkle a little bit of salt
  3.  Drain the pasta after its fully cooked  
  4. In a medium size pan , spray a little bit of olive oil and place bacon strips to slightly fry. To achieve a golden color, careful not to crisp bacon  
  5. Place fried bacon strips on a plate covered with paper towels to drain exceeds oil 
  6. Leave bacon strips to cool down then with your hands cut them into small pieces  
  7. In a small pot , add 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil and one tablespoon of minced garlic and bring to a golden color  
  8. When minced garlic becomes golden color, add the tomato sauce and 1/4 cup of water , sprinkle with salt, pepper and chili flakes. Bring sauce to fully cook , and taste 
  9. Slice the hot dogs into chunks or slices , based on your preference and fry  
  10. Bring the sauce to the pasta and add both the bacon and sausages. Sprinkle season to flavor. Add parsley to garnish
